How we started
Every successful business has a strong foundation. Our grandfather started to produce wines as a part of family tradition, which was carried on by our father. In 1989, the winery Madirazza was officially founded and that’s where our story begins.

In order to make great wines, you have to have great land, and plenty of it. Over 20 acres of land are the first step in our production process. Each of our wine yards is used for a different variety of wine. Their positions enable us to produce unique wines. The most important positions are Dingač and Postup. Our unique micro-locations have provided the most glorious grapes.
Harvest
2010.
Pelješac and our wine yards are fairly isolated. This isolation helped in maintaining traditional processes. Hand-picked grapes and specific processes are what makes each bottle special.
Vineyard cultivation and wine aging
2015.
Our vineyards on steep slopes can be cultivated only by hand because access to mechanization is impossible. Madirazza bottles are result of a careful balance between heritage and modernization. Through continuous education and upgrades we provide you with full buke every time. The harvest usually begins mid-August with white sorts, followed by Dingač, Postup and then, Plavac. The optimal harvest period varies each year, thus enabling the best quality each time. All varieties are treated differently and aging time is modified accordingly.

2005.
Ever since the foundation of winery, we have participated in various local, national, and international wine festivals. We take great pride in participating in Open cellar days. This manifestation gives us an opportunity to present our story and showcase our wines in a picturesque setting. We often organize events with live music, great food, and of course, amazing wines. Winery Madirazza provides you with a full experience of Pelješac heritage.
